Anthony and Cleopatra About Marcia Dixcy Jory

Production Notes

Produced in 1992 by Actors Theatre of Louisville. Jon Jory, Director. Ming Cho Lee, Set Designer. Stephen Strawbridge, Lighting Designer.
This design was predicated on Neoclassical periods in costume history. The Romans’ uniforms and clothes were based on the early 19th Century paintings of David, Ingres, and Gerome. Designs for the Egyptians were influenced by the work of Mario Fortuny: his primitive pleating and his silk-screened gowns with Coptic and Minoan designs. The uniforms were coordinated and built at Morris Angels in London. All of the clothing for Cleopatra and her attendants were silk-screened and built in the ATL costume shop.
Clancy Brown and Mercedes Ruhl played the title roles.
